My paintings come out of the workshop...

Still in February 2019

You may not know it yet, but at home we love to entertain, share, enjoy time together... and that often goes with a little bottle.

It used to be mostly champagne... and yes I love bubbles! But since we're here I like to taste different rosés... And the wine shop next door, Olivier at Caves de Thomas, talks about it in such a way!

So all this to tell you that, here I am, looking for a bottle for I don't know what occasion and I take the opportunity to tell the wine merchant that our conversation inspired me, that I made a painting in 20cmx100cm. It represents a half glass of wine and a bunch of grapes. I named it "Lit de Vin".

He liked my idea and I showed him the result on my phone. He likes it very much and I am so happy of his smile. He really likes it because we look together where it could find a place in the store.

At the same time, he suggested that I exhibit at Just'Rosé. Do you know it? It is one of the big annual events of the city of Sanary sur mer (83). It's a festival that brings together about 70 wineries during 3 days. It is also a community of more than 70 000 people moves in the streets, from stand to stand to discover the different flavors.

Olivier will have a stand, place Cavet, and I will be able to exhibit my paintings. Great opportunity to show my work! My paintings come out of my workshop!...

March 4th

This beautiful Artistic Adventure started by a combination of circumstances... Remember, we moved to another department without me having obtained my assignment as a school teacher and our professional project when we arrived here had not taken the desired turn. I found myself at home to take care of the children and I took over the brushes while they were at school...

At the beginning of the year, I applied for a new school assignment.

Today, March 4th, results day...

Like every time I wait, I'm stressed... But this time it's different... A strange mixture... I need this assignment to start again at the beginning of the new school year, but today I don't want to let go of my brushes. My paintings are coming out of the studio and I am well aware that this increase in activity requires time...

The results are in... I call my Chou... and then I cry... I got my assignment. It's good news and at the same time in my head it's the end of this beautiful dream...

My Chou hears me and understands me. We discuss it in the evening and we find an intermediate solution: I will ask for a part-time job. This will ensure an income, to keep me time for our children and to continue to paint... We are only in March and my school year starts in September so I have to go all out until then! To make myself known to the maximum.

I just found a new contest. This time there is a theme "Vegetal", but it is "free" and they propose an exhibition. The work will be exhibited during a weekend and the selection will be made at that time. I like the principle more, the theme much less lol I have to make the painting to submit it on March 20th...

Research, reflections, first brush strokes... I manage to get something out.

"Engrenage Végétal" - Acrylic on Canvas

Format 116cm x 81 cm

Deposit on March 20th and opening on the 22nd.

Here I am, getting into my car to leave for Saint Marc Jaumegarde... Another moment of solitude. We just arrived in the region and I still don't know many people who are interested in art and who are motivated enough to accompany me an hour from home... I must admit that I'm a little worried in my car... I would have liked to share this moment... I arrive at the place. It's strange to arrive there with all these people who seem to know each other but that I don't even know. My painting is there, exposed among others. I am happy but uncomfortable. I wander around waiting for the speech.

I was not selected but it is a good experience. As in every contest that is played with visual appreciation, we agree or not with some choices but it allowed me to discover the work of other artists, to immerse myself in a first vernissage. But still, I'm not sure I'll repeat this experience...

That's done, now prepare for the Handmade Market planned for April 7th in Gemenos and the same weekend, first exhibition with the 7G....

For the rest... I'll see you next week...
